CSA, hooray! Chapter 8

IMG_5845

I can’t believe we’re two months into CSA season. Our weekly box selection is definitely getting interesting:

  • okra
  • green bush beans
  • radishes
  • little leaf cucumbers
  • Japanese cucumber
  • zucchini
  • red Italian onion
  • tomatoes
  • Swiss chard

This week’s “what in the heck do I do with this?” veggie: Okra. I’ve never eaten it, let alone cooked with it.

Like I said, this is getting interesting.

  1. Okra is really hard to get my kids to eat. My best bet is throwing it into a curry. I’ve also dehydrated it to add to soups later in the year.

  2. I have never cooked okra. Doesn’t it get slippery and slimy during the fresh and cooked stage? Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
